How NZMinds built an AI-assisted catalogue authoring and publishing platform that converts static PDFs and images into branded, shareable, and trackable digital publications.

A marketing technology company needed a way to turn static brochures and property listings into interactive, trackable digital catalogues, without hiring an in-house design team.

Accelerate Capability — AI & Data
Interactive Publication Platform
As organizations grow, so do the demands on their engineering teams. Hiring slows, delivery becomes more complex, and specialized expertise becomes essential. Behind many of these challenges lie two fundamental constraints: capacity and capability.

The client's teams were producing catalogues and brochures manually, with every new listing or product update requiring design time they didn't have in-house. Publishing speed was capped by design bandwidth, not demand.

No existing tooling could convert a static PDF into an editable, on-brand catalogue without flattening it to an image and losing the original text, fonts, and layout. There was also no way to track who opened or engaged with a published catalogue once it was sent out.

NZMinds designed and built an AI-assisted catalogue authoring and publishing platform, centred on a canvas-based editor that turns raw images and existing brochures into polished, branded publications without requiring design software or a designer. The build followed NZMinds' validation-first methodology: the PDF ingestion pipeline was proven against real-world brochures before being rolled out across the wider catalogue workflow.
Original text, fonts, and layout preserved, not flattened to an image
From raw brochure to published catalogue without a designer
Company, property, user, and role management built in
Share, download, and view activity visible per catalogue
No handoff between design and publishing teams
Non-judgmental validation and evidence-gathering handled by the platform

Stat callout:
62 days
Average time-to-fill for engineering roles, vs.
42 days across all roles (Workable / SHRM, 2026)

Months, not weeks. Open roles sit unfilled while the roadmap keeps moving without them.

Spread too thin. Engineers split across three initiatives finish none of them on schedule.

Shipping every quarter. The backlog doesn’t shrink. It just gets reprioritized, again.

Skills you haven’t hired for. The stack you’re modernizing needs people your team was never built around.

“They didn't just build what we asked for. They pushed back on the parts that weren't worth building yet, and that saved us a quarter.”
